The NRA kills people?? Oh my god! That must be during the thousands of gun safety classes they teach. Wow

Thanks to the NRA, the more guns there are the more murders there are. Simple as that.

I also believe myself that persons other than police and hunters who carry guns are going out actually looking for trouble,or just not avoiding troubled areas only because they have a gun and feel safe in those bad areas. Dont put yourself in a bad situation and you won't need one. And its one thing to target shoot and hunt animals but it takes alot of nerve and guts to shoot a human being if you had to.Even police go through alot of trauma when that happens and need counciling. So take those guns away.

Do yourself a favor and don't push the gun thing. And try to live as long as you can and prosper. :D

To think that a person who makes the decision to carry concealed does so intentionally looking for trouble is one of the most ignorant things I have seen here. Mature, law abiding, CCW carriers know they have a lot to lose if they make a mistake. Unlike the criminals and mentally Ill who don't care. Carrying a firearm takes careful decision making, constant concern as to what is going on, if the gun is concealed, if it is secure. They have to deal with the heavy decision of if they can actual take another persons life even to save others. It can have the weight of an anchor but it is a weight they accept to protect themselves, their loved ones, and those around them who can't protect themselves. CCW carriers give up a lot and take on a lot of responsibility and get nothing out of it.

Dicks has suspended rifle sales. I say good for them! This is a true turning point on the issue of guns. A publicly traded company ending sales of a popular item? That speaks volumes during a slow Xmas shopping season. We should all make it a point to spend some $ at Dicks, to say we're behind them.

Oh cry me a river Sally. Anyone who's job requires CCW took the job for the power, and anyone that has one that doesn't need one for their job is a paranoid maniac. Don't pretend you are some kind of hero, you are part of the problem.

Weight of an anchor, good grief!

Cuddle up with that gun tonight.

They were there within MINUTES of the call you rotten jerk!!

Law Enforcement is 99% of the time picking up the pieces rather than preventing anything. LE didn't save 27 people.......

What job is it that requires such gross ignorance and ill place pride? Whatever it is, you must be great at it because you have those attributes in spades.

When seconds matter, the police are only minutes away! The average response time across the country is over 5 minutes. They were there in something like 2 minutes. Wasn't fast enough was it? The courts have already established that it is not law enforcements responsibility to protect individuals.

The more you post the more surprised I am at what you don't know.

Here are some fun facts about guns:

1. No one was ever murdered before they invented them, it was a peaceful world driven only by the desire for all to live equally in harmony.

2. If guns are so bad in the view of our fearless leader, why did he finance a gun running scheme to benefit from them to Mexico?

3. Guns are easily the problem because the general breakdown of morals in our society are independent of any political issue.

One more way for big government to stick their fingers where they don't belong.

P.S.- The scoundrels who make this tragedy a political opportunity to further their stupid agendas truly are missing the boat on reality alltogether. You're actually pretty sick.

DID YOU KNOW? In one year on average, almost 100,000 people in America are shot or killed with a gun.

  • Gun violence impacts society in countless ways: medical costs, costs of the criminal justice system, security precautions such as metal detectors, and reductions in quality of life because of fear of gun violence. These impacts are estimated to cost U.S. citizens $100 billion annually (Cook, 2000).

DID YOU KNOW? Where there are more guns, there are more gun deaths.

  • An estimated 41% of gun-related homicides and 94% of gun-related suicides would not occur under the same circumstances had no guns been present (Wiebe, p. 780).

  • Keeping a firearm in the home increases the risk of suicide by a factor of 3 to 5 and increases the risk of suicide with a firearm by a factor of 17 (Kellermann, 1992, p. 467; Wiebe, p. 771).

  • Keeping a firearm in the home increases the risk of homicide by a factor of 3 (Kellermann, 1993, p. 1084).

DID YOU KNOW? On the whole, guns are more likely to raise the risk of injury than to confer protection.

  • Guns are used to intimidate and threaten 4 to 6 times more often than they are used to thwart crime (Hemenway, p. 269).

  • Every year there are only about 200 legally justified self-defense homicides by private citizens (FBI, Expanded Homicide Data, Table 15) compared with over 30,000 gun deaths (NCIPC).

  • A 2009 study found that people in possession of a gun are 4.5 times more likely to be shot in an assault (Branas).

DID YOU KNOW? Assaults and suicide attempts with firearms are much more likely to be fatal than those perpetrated with less lethal weapons or means. Removing guns saves lives.

  • There are five times as many deaths from gun assaults as from knife assaults, where the rates of assault with knives and with guns are similar (Zimring, p. 199).

DID YOU KNOW? Guns can be sold in the United States without a background check to screen out criminals or the mentally ill.

  • It is estimated that over forty percent of gun acquisitions occur in the secondary market. That means that they happen without a Brady background check at a federally licensed dealer (Cook, p. 26).

  • Sales from federal firearm licensees (FFLs) require a background check. Sales between individuals, under federal law, do not require a background check. This means that felons can “lie and buy” at gun shows and other places where guns are readily available.

my point was and is you dont need a gun to go out to dinner or to the zoo or to go grocery shopping or most places at reasonable times of the day or night. But you may if you want to go say downtown anywhere usa at 2 or 3 am in the morning, in that case you are just looking for a bad idea.
