(BINGHAMTON, NY) Fourteen individuals were arrested on charges ranging from graffiti, stealing a law enforcement body camera and disorderly conduct to obstruction and resisting arrest at the 4th annual ā€œSmoke Weed Outside the Binghamton Police Stationā€ event in downtown Binghamton.
On Saturday, April 20, 2024, members of the Broome County Sheriffā€™s Office assisted Binghamton Police Department in ensuring a safe public gathering, which was scheduled to begin at 4:20 PM on Hawley Street in front of Government Plaza.
After attendees started to arrive around 3:30 PM, some attendees began scrawling graffiti via spray paint and spray chalk across the stone wall encompassing the government plaza parking lot before being stopped by members of the Broome County Sheriffā€™s Office.
As the event grew bigger, attendees began blocking the flow of traffic on Hawley Street, forcing members of the Sheriffā€™s Office and Binghamton Police to make several arrests while clearing the roadway and restoring traffic flow before the event dispersed at 6:30 PM.
Various charges were issued, including interfering with law enforcement making an arrest (Obstructing Government Administration), disorderly conduct, petit larceny for stealing a law enforcement body camera and resisting arrest.
The following individuals were arrested and charged by the Broome County Sheriffā€™s Office:
Masai Andrews, age 41 of Endicott, NY, was charged with Obstructing Government Administration, a Class A Misdemeanor
Quinton Archer, age 32 of Binghamton, NY, was charged with Obstructing Government Administration, a Class A Misdemeanor
John Cook, age 49 of Vestal, NY, was charged with Making Graffiti, a Class A Misdemeanor
Kalieb Deshaw, age 25 of Binghamton, NY, was charged with Disorderly Conduct, a Violation
David Jones, age 40 of Binghamton, NY, was charged with Obstructing Government Administration, a Class A Misdemeanor and Resisting Arrest, a Class A Misdemeanor

All individuals arrested by the Broome County Sheriffā€™s Office were processed and released on appearance tickets to appear at a later date in the City of Binghamton Court.
The Binghamton Police Department also arrested six (6) other individuals.
The Binghamton Police Department and the Broome County Sheriffā€™s Office were also assisted by The Broome County Government Security Division .
The crime of Making Graffiti is defined in the New York State Penal Law as making graffiti of any type on any building, public or private, or any other property real or personal owned by any person, firm or corporation or any public agency or instrumentality, without the express permission of the owner or operator of said property (PL 145.60 Subdivision 2).

WTF is wrong with these idiots? Been legal for years now, and still they try to stir up trouble. Same old names, too.

That Masai POS should be fired from NYS, and Teresa is just batshit crazy.

And salka is masaiā€™s partner in crimeĀ

This was not a permitted event. They literally set up tents and blocked the street. They did the same thing last year, but there were no arrests last year. Not sure why. If they didn't block traffic and spray graffiti, they probably wouldn't have been arrested. This was organized by the same guy that organized the Wegmans protest a couple of years ago.

Masai, who's FB name is Roderick Strugless or something stupid like that.Ā

He likes to joke about how he spends his workday organizing these shitstirring "events", and still gets paid for it. (NYS - BDC - almost $100k)Ā
