Donald Trump backed off a false claim Friday morning, admitting he had not seen a video of a $400 million payment being unloaded from a US plane in Iran.

The Republican nominee had claimed at rallies twice this week that such a video existed.

 

What Trump had actually seen in news reports was video of three American prisoners who Iran had released arriving in Geneva, Switzerland.

 

Trump admitted his error in an early-morning tweet Friday, without actually saying he was wrong.

 

 

Holy Son of God. If he takes office and deliberately lies about international matters when the stakes could be the fate of the entire planet, we are so screwed.

 

 

"It was interesting because a tape was made. Right? You saw that? With the airplane coming in -- nice plane -- and the airplane coming in, and the money coming off, I guess. Right? That was given to us, has to be, by the Iranians," Trump said.

 

Yeah, it sure was interesting.

 

Imagine if it were him in office during the Cuban missile crisis in 1961. We wouldn’t be here today to discuss imaging if it were him in office during the Cuban missile crisis in 1961. We’d have been toasted a few thousand times over after he got it wrong and/or flat out lied, 6 hours after he launched a single nuke.

 

It’s not like it’s just an isolated mistake here and there. He’s getting WAY more wrong than he is right.

Trump's recent criticism of VP candidate Kaine, who Trump said in a late-July news conference "did a terrible job in New Jersey" -- despite Kaine being a governor and senator from Virginia, not New Jersey.

 

Kaine said Trump must have confused him with Tom Kean, who was New Jersey's governor until 1990.

 

Asked if he thinks Trump is confused, Kaine said: "I absolutely think he's confused."

Why doesn’t his staff OR HIS KIDS call him on BS like this latest claim? They let him run with his errant, insanely dangerous rants on international politics, negotiation and diplomacy that would put us all in immediate and profound danger if he were in charge.

 

How did he manage to not lose billions of dollars if he’s THIS inept and clumsy with basic facts? He must have screwed over at least 80% of the people he owed money to to keep from going broke if he made business decisions with the same laser-like precision he’s making claims about seeing videos of planes full of money.
