A bigger concern is why Eastern Broome County has been disenfranchised from the 52 NY Senate District?

That is a question for the state legislature, and you have already posted it in another thread.

This thread - while maybe not addressing as important a question in your estimation - is about Rich David’s future.

Does he go to work for Adam W? Does he even stay in the area?

Holy cow!

Doubtlessly a challenging district, but that was no big surprise. A Democrat controlled legislature set the boundaries.

So, instead of pandering to Tompkins County leftists that were never going to vote for him, pounding more pavement in the towns of Vestal and Union, two of the district’s largest population centers, might have fetched the Conservative Party candidate those 1500 votes he needed.

“The map! The map!” is a weak excuse. If anything, lack of strong ethic did him in.

Bucci should find David a job.  He lost the election for him.

Why does a many times self-touted job creator need someone else, especially a political figure or former political figure, to get him a job?

It was Rich David’s job to get himself elected. He failed, because he did not work hard enough.

“It’s Bucci’s fault!” is another weak excuse.

Rich was a great mayor and made a lot of contacts in the community.  He will land on his feet and not only make good money, but be an asset to any organization.

You worded this very well, and I couldn't agree more about this. However, I'm sure Solak would say different.

He ran a lazy campaign - not that I agree with Webb’s foot soldier antics in the ToU. He’ll land somewhere in the private sector.

Back to BCC?

BCC is bleeding staff and is limiting the number of courses they are offering. Almost half of their classes are online. Enrollment is down so revenues are too. Staff and faculty that leave aren’t being replaced.

Hiring another do-nothing administrator at over $100,000 a year is exactly what I would expect out of that place, as long as they don’t need more pavilions.

A creative, innovative, dynamic business leader would scoff at the idea of ever holding a do nothing political machine patronage job.

But an entitled, prissy primaddona late night partyer would be right on it.

Say what you will, but Solak contributed to David’s defeat.

Withe margin as close as it was, he definitely contributed.

But the candidate himself contributed the most by paying insufficient attention to towns like Vestal, Union and Chenango. He had name recognition there and good Republican voter bases out of which he could have gotten those 1500 votes he needed.

Too much partying, not enough pavement pounding.
