We live in a county where the District Attorney must be publicly shamed into doing the right thing, and prosecuting dangerous rapists. I know a girl who was raped in 2016. Michael Korchak handled the case, and told the girl essentially she was asking for it. And he refused to prosecute the case any further. She was held against her will and physically overpowered as her attacker raped her. There was bruising and other physical evidence, and she reported the rape very soon after it occurred. And — (asking for a friend) — did Korchak take any campaign money from any Soros-linked organizations? (There seemed to be quite an effort the past few years to make sure like-minded individuals were placed in district attorney offices around the country, influencing which cases were pursued and which ones were ignored.) Today Mike really insulted Mara Young Grace’s close friend and campaign contributor Rita Basile. Assistant DA Rita Basile now titled “The Bureau Chief”, because today when she was standing behind him he referenced to her as being with the “Office for Years”. Last time I checked she has been with the DA office for over a decade and it’s obvious he could care less about Valuing his employees. It is clear to even me as an outsider, the BPD is comprised in this "investigation", with many conflicts within the department and close connections between officers and the bar owners. And the DA is incompetent. I was told one of the DA's senior attorneys lived above Colonial and had a close friendship and business relationship with Ron Kweller. No. Which leads the public to believe 1 of 2 situations, IMO. #1 The FBI is indeed involved, which would keep any other dept or elected official from making a statement of their own. The accused and their attorneys would probably also want to stay quiet until the end of an investigation. Or #2 (and I pray this isn't the right one), This is being brushed aside and buried and we hear nothing about it anymore. The restaurants eventually reopen after the new year and all is forgotten by the powerful ones, who also will start to frequent the establishments again. So, I'm going to lay out what I understand to be the facts, because some time has passed and there has been a lot of confusion: - The original posts on this topic all agree that an incident took place, but contain few specifics beyond the basement mattress and some form of drug-facilitation. - The police have confirmed an investigation, but rumors about arrests or search warrants - or anything discovered during those searches - haven't been substantiated. Multiple people claim they saw Ringden's arrest on MobilePatrol, but nobody has a screenshot. - There appears to be some confusion with an unrelated arrest in JC. - There are claims that Battisti may be representing the owners, that Yonaty may have posted bail for one for them, and/or that Rich David may somehow be tied to their finances. I am not aware of any records substantiating any of this, although that doesn't mean it isn't going to turn out to be so. Two notoriously psychotic people have been promoting the latter two claims (about Yonaty and David), but don't seem to be the original source. - There are claims that over a dozen victims have come forward, but none have made public statements identifying themselves or describing what happened from a first-hand perspective. It's not clear if they have group counsel or if any have retained attorneys. I am not aware of any civil cases filed. - What is true is that a number of people have been willing to speak up and describe deeply troubling conduct by the owners and management during job interviews or employment, as well as just creepy and bizarre behavior - like one owner showing up at another local restaurant and complaining that there weren't "enough tits behind the bar". There is one particularly terrible story going around online that does appear to specifically describe a sexual assault at some point in the past, although I don't recall if the person was willing to put their name on it.
