Yes she worked for Jackson Bergman until Thanksgiving. I believe the day of the sexual assaults may have been her last day at Jackson Bergman. She started with the DA’s office the week after Thanksgiving. She has never prosecuted a case in her life.

this is interesting, if charges are brought and Alyssa goes against Paul Battisti or any seasoned Lawyer the DA’s office stands no chance at a conviction

It almost seems by Mayor Davids comments that the investigation is based strictly on social media posts. Never has the BPD said that a victim has filed an in person complaint. I do find it strange that the BPD has a Chief and an Asst Chief who have yet to comment on any of this. It would seem they could give updates or does Minor run the department and by him saying there will be no comment until 28th of December does that mean he tells the Chief whats, what.  Hopefully I'm wrong but I can see this all fading away.

according to the Reddit megathread on 12/15/2021 BPD is working with a new witness that can bring charges. Let’s see if that’s true

So the real victims are the owners and people accused?

Honestly, people are still insisting on social media that an arrest has been made because they heard it from multiple people.

Of course they heard it from multiple people. That's how social media works. 127 people click "like" and then somebody runs off and tells their neighbor they heard it from a "friend". What's missing is that original posters were confusing some random guy in JC for one of the owners.

Some of this is going to turn out to be the next "helicopters full of COVID patients from NYC, my friend's friend is a nurse and took pictures" small town bullshit telephone game. Some of it won't. That's why I'm hesitant to rely on "megathreads" agglomerating every single hint or whatever, and trying to sort out what's actually been substantiated or could easily be if anyone wished to do so.

It's never been at all clear that "15+ victims have come forward", what they claim to be victims of, or what "coming forward" is supposed to mean. If you file a complaint with law enforcement, even if all you have is your testimony, at least you have a case number to work with. I don't doubt that something terrible has happened here, but people are being careless and it's harmful to whoever any real victims are.

Solak’s City Council speech last night was right on target.

The mayor is head of public safety in Binghamton. The mayor is also a major creditor of the owners at whose Binghamton property criminal activity allegedly occurred.

As mortgage holder on one of these owners’ properties, the mayor has a direct financial interest in these owners’ businesses remaining viable.

So, the agency over which the mayor is head should not be investigating those with whom the mayor has such an interest and relationship, and that so long as it is allowed to keep doing so,  the real story may never be known.

If these guys are ever charged, and I hope they are, the defense is going to have a field day with this "investigation".  It is a horrible disservice to the victims.  My understanding is Inv. Amanda Miller, Capt. Corey Minor and DA Korchak have fumbled this thing over and over again form day one.

Solak had it right at City Council the other night.

Macro factors facilitating the alleged harm to these young people: the seemingly ever increasing hyper-sexualization of American society reaching deeper and deeper into educational and cutural institutions since the 1960’s, along with the associated progressive disintigration of American family structure, and family oriented institutions.

Micro factors: A local electorate preferring genteel lies of nice talking, handpicked political hacks over the truth couched in terms daring to question the wisdom of electing sexually ambiguous late night partyers untethered to family life as political leaders.16 years of such self-injurious action in Binghamton has taken its toll. None of it was necessary. Too bad.

OK. Good points. Doesn't mean you can go around drugging and raping people however. We'll see if the investigation can shed some light on if that happened.

Apparently in Binghamton you can, under the right circumstances and being connected to the right people.

When the investigators’ boss has a direct financial interest (a mortgage) in those being investigated staying in profitable business, chances of light being shed decline significantly. Chances are the opposite will happen. He who acts badly hates the light.

Despite fair warning, Binghamton’s electorate has repeatedly chosen exceedingly unwisely, and this calamity is one consequence.

Innocent girls were drugged and raped at a downtown bar that is a hangout for the Binghamton police and DA's office.  The residents of Binghamton expected a strong response from the police and DA.  But what we got was not only weak and uninspiring, but barely even human.  As a parent this is gut wrenching, and as a resident of Broome County this is appalling.

If the rapists weren't who they are (money, resources, praised by the media & chamber of commerce), they would have been arrested weeks ago.  This has opened a lot of people's eyes to the criminal "justice" system in Broome County.  And we should all be outraged.

The agencies from whom the public expects a strong response take their cues and/or marching orders from Binghamton’s head of public safety, who holds a mortgage on a property where crimes against these young people are alleged to have occured, and who is a major creditor of those whose names have been mentioned as perpetrators.

Such circumstances substantially diminish the likelihood of a strong response.
